Consistency (The Art of Creation)

My life can be categorized through a series of pivots.

A grouping of seemingly unrelated 'seasons' that uniquely prepared me for the next.

To the naked eye... you'd say I've done a lot.

To the reflective eye... you'd say it makes perfect sense.

To the present eye... you'd say it's going to be a hell of a ride.

Truth is, nobody really knows what they're doing...

... they are just doing the best with what they have (or so we hope).

*At least that's the belief I presently hold.

What's remained consistent is my consistency.

Not that I've stuck with one thing long enough to discovery mastery...

... I'd be much farther in one specific arena if I did (*I value novelty too much).

*This could be interpreted as a fault... or a strength, depending on how you slice it.

What has remained consistent is my belief in myself.

I refuse to believe that if you're a good person, you stay in alignment with your values, and that you show up day after day... it won't always work out in the end.

It may not be what you envisioned from the start.

... actually, I can guarantee it won't be - but that is okay.

We're not going for perfection.

We're not going for an end.

We're not going for status.

At the end of the day, the only thing we will leave this planet with are the experiences that we had, the moments that we shared, and the memories created.

Optimize your life for alignment of values.

Surround yourself with those who improve upon your stillness.

Prioritize your actions with those that add meaning to your life.

... and enjoy the damn ride along the way.

It's not about obtaining more, but enjoying less...

... because the man who requires materials for validation dies worthless.

Presence within the process equates to progress... and creates presence.
